MY LAST GLYMM BAG (JANUARY 2013)

Hi girls!

So GLYMM is a beauty box subscription where 4-5 "deluxe" samples are sent to you. I have been subscribed for 5 months now and January 2013 is my last bag!
I paid $13.56 (with tax) for each box and I am overall very disappointed with this subscription. They have recently changed up the service. Instead, it will now be $15 + tax for each box. Also, they used to offer free shipping on anything in their online store boutique for orders over $50, this has been changed to orders over $100. The loyalty point system has also changed on the site. Before we were able to get points for every dollar spent in the shop! Glymm didn't even let the subscribers know via email or their facebook page. I found out by going on their website myself.

So glad to be done with this service! I am subscribed to Topbox and have recently subscribed to Ipsy (February will be my first!). They both have a relatively high customer service and the price is well worth it.

The January 2013 bag:

My first impression was the decrease in the size of the products. I did not feel excited or felt entirely happy when opening my box.

This is a boost serum to conditioner my hair. The smell is to my disliking.  It smells like medicine. 30ml.

This is a really tiny and cheap sample. How is this anywhere from deluxe? It is a body lotion and frankly, I can get it free if I email Burt's Bees and ask. Not a really nice scent, very plain. However, it did feel quite smooth after I applied it on my skin. 7ml

This is a really small sample of the 360 skin care firming serum. The scent smells very natural and nice, however, there doesn't seem to be anything interesting that stands out particularly about the lotion itself. I did read that Jojoba oil is an ingredient in it and I have heard great things about that oil.  .20oz

I did receive wipes from this brand in a previous glymm bag. This one is the facial cleansing wipe. It is supposed to condition my skin. I haven't opened it yet because I want to save it as it is a generally good size for traveling. This sample is actually the largest one (in terms of size) in the whole bag!

Not a fan of the color or the texture design. In fact, I really dislike the bag.The color is rose gold. It looks very similar to the gold one from last month. It was not a delight to open the box and find that this is the color for this month. It just looks like it was recolored from the leftover bags from last month :(. Also I don't like how the logo is stitched on the bag rather than inside it.

This is the teeniest mascara sample I have ever seen. This is by a company called LASHEM. Mine was all dried up when I took it out! When reading the posts on glymm's facebook page, a lot of subscribers experienced the same problem as I. There seems to be no product in my sample at all! Really disappointing because I love mascaras a lot and would have loved to try it out.

This is a comparison to my OPI full sized nail polish bottlee so you can all see how small this sample is! It is like HALF the size of a normal mascara sample!

So happy to be done with Glymm. The only thing I found from Glymm that I love is the Miss Jessies Baby Buttercreme for my curly hair! I bought a whole bunch and will probably use my leftover points for that and be completely done with this service.

What do you think of this month's box?

**This is a post on my thoughts of the glymm bag, not a full review.

RESURRECTING MY HAIR

While heading home today, I decided to stop by Winners  to check out their beauty section. Since I'm a student on a budget, Sephora is not always the most budget friendly place to shop unless I'm feeling splurge-worthy. Winners carry a variety of random beauty products at an amazingly cheap price, but you're going to have to take the time to look through the sometimes messy shelves. Today, I was specifically looking for a  hair masque or a leave in conditioner to revitalize my dull looking hair and I came across this beauty:

And I couldn't be happier!

Since I got highlights a couple of days ago, I went from a brunette to an ash blonde, my hair wasn't feeling it's best. My hairdresser recommended that I do a hair masque ASAP and so I was on the hunt for one since I used up my last jar of hair masque ages ago. A hair masque is like a conditioner but it's designed to be left in your hair longer for better results. The brand, Wella is German company started in the 1880s, however their products are made in France. Being an European based company I rarely come across this brand unless specific salons in the city carries it. So when I saw this lovely sitting on the shelve at Winners, I was beyond excited!

How to use it:
1. Wash your hair and towel dry it
2. Put a generous amount (a little goes a long way) onto your hair like you would with a regular conditioner
3. Leave it in for 10-20 minutes
4. Rinse out the residue

The texture of the hair masque feels like a thick cream and smells like melted marshmallows, but my hair feels absolutely amazing afterwards! My hair feels instantly lighter, less tangibly and more smooth! I can't wait to use it again and I'll keep you guys posted on the progress!

I'll probably go back tomorrow to pick up a couple more jars of this god-sent product. It never hurts to keep a couple in stock!

Lots of love!

BEST MAKEUP REMOVER EVER!

So let me just rave about a certain make-up remover that I have been using since 2012. One of my new years resolution of 2012 was to take off all my makeup every single night. My daily makeup routine consists of eyes, eyebrows and occasionally lips. In accordance to mascara, I use a ton of it and to top it off--it's waterproof. I have to say that by the end of the night, I don't struggle to take it all off with this make up remover. In fact, there is no intense rubbing to remove my makeup.  Last thing I want before I go to bed is to remove my makeup cotton after cotton (and being scared that I would rub too hard that a single precious eyelash will fall off). To have find this makeup remover has been rewarding for my skin as it is natural and completely chemical free!
Here it is!

As you can see, I am almost running out of it! I've been using this particular bottle since January 2012! Love this stuff. At first I was a little skeptical because my skin can become oily (I have combination skin). Why would I want to put oil on my face! I was a little curious when I started to see  youtube guru's talking about using extra virgin olive oil. With further research I found that the oil will not clog up my pores because it works like the natural oils on my face. I needed to try it and till this day it is part of my beauty regime.

Most simplest instructions ever:
1. Dab a layer of extra virgin olive oil on a face cotton
2. Press it on your eye and wait about 15 seconds, it will remove 80% of the makeup on the first wipe. Use the same face cotton to remove the rest of it, then do the same with the other eye

The layer of oil I use ( looks like an egg haha)

The aftermath of my eye makeup removal (for both eyes!)

Try it out :)

LAUNCH OF B&B

Well this will be the first post, an introduction I suppose. We will dedicate to write posts daily and showcase our massive shopping results--despite being so broke. This blog will be written by two girls, Kasey and Peggy. This is a collaboration of our thoughts on anything beauty related and perhaps even random and interesting shenanigan news we find. Obviously the blog is still in progress but we hope to gather a lot of followers who love all things beautiful too.

STAY TUNED
